Turtle Beach is quite renowned in the gaming community for producing some impressive gaming headsets. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 is a power-packed gaming headset that is a decent option for gamers under budget. The gaming headset supports both wireless and wired connectivity for non-stop gaming. Also, the bass-heavy sound profile is a win-win situation for bass lovers. We can clearly see that Stealth 700 is an improved version of the older Turtle Beach Stealth 600, which lacked Bluetooth, ANC, and wired connection support. However, despite being suitable for mixed usage, the headset is not ideal for intense activities like workouts or sports.

Sound Quality
The sound profile on these headphones is quite bass-heavy, making it most sought by bass lovers. Whether listening to some rocking EDM or playing some action-packed games, you can enjoy the thumping bass. However, the bass intensity also depends on the fit of the headphones on your ear, and the same applies to the trebles. Despite the windows sonic surround sound support, we didn’t experience an outclass surround sound experience. The main reason behind this can be the closed-back design which makes the music sound like it’s coming from inside your head, not surroundings. So, we can say that the virtual surround sound doesn’t do much to sound quality.
Another gaming sound enhancement feature is the Superhuman hearing we found on the Stealth 600 too. The feature makes the sound clearer and more detailed, especially for games with many intricate sounds like footsteps, gun reloading, etc. Also, the dynamic chat boost provides an outstanding balance between game sound and chat audio. Overall, we can say that the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 has an above-average audio quality that focuses more on the bass-loving audience.
Microphone
Like most gaming headsets, you get a boom mic extending from the left ear cup. The mic is non-detachable but can be flipped to mute/unmute or when not in use. Although the voice quality lacks details, the overall quality is suitable for making calls and game chats. In terms of noise isolation, it’s just average. Yes, the mic struggles to deliver a clear voice in loud environments.
Design
The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 looks almost identical to the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Wireless with a few tweaks. The headband’s design differs from that of Stealth 600 and also has a tad bit thicker earcups. However, the overall headset remains full-plastic, which doesn’t account for any premium feel. The headsets are not the flashiest or the sleekest looking at all. The headset is currently available in two dual-tone variants – Black & Blue and Black & Green. The bright colored blue or green accents add a bit of life to the overall look.
The headband and earcups are well padded with memory foam covered with faux leather, which is soothing to the ears. Also, the earcups are pretty spacious, making them comfortable for big ears, but the headband can feel a bit tight. The build quality is not as good as expected, but the earcups feel dense enough to survive medium impacts or shortfalls. In terms of portability, do not expect much because they are pretty bulky and cannot be folded. With no carrying pouch provided, it makes it a pain for storing and traveling with.
Compatibility
The Turtle Beach 700 comes in two variants- One is compatible with PS4 and the other with Xbox One. The PS4 variant is also compatible with PC through the USB dongle provided with it. On the other hand, the Xbox One might require a separate wireless adapter to connect it to a PC. The Bluetooth connectivity also lets you connect them to smartphones and other Bluetooth devices.
Connectivity
The wireless gaming headset provides both Bluetooth and non-Bluetooth wireless connectivity. In addition, you can also connect them through a 1/8″ TRS that you need to purchase separately. This wired connection comes in handy when the headset runs out of juice. You also get mobile app support to enjoy various EQ settings, mic control, chat boost, surround sound modes, etc.
Coming to its battery life, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 can last up to 11 hours of continuous playback. The headset takes nearly 3 hours to charge fully.
Control & Comfort
You get pretty good controls on the Stealth 700, which are suitable for gaming and music. The left earcup houses three buttons dedicated to three different functions – Superhuman Hearing Mode, Bluetooth control, and power on/off. The power button can also act as an on/off button for the ANC feature, while the Bluetooth button has call/music control. The headset also has a volume slider and a channel mixing dial.
The headset is comfortable enough for long hours of gaming. All thanks to its spacious earcups that are well padded with thick memory foam and covered with premium faux leather.
Warranty & Support
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty.
Is Turtle Beach Stealth 700 worth purchasing?
The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 emerges as a decent gaming headset that offers gamer-centric features equally suitable for watching movies and listening to music. However, keep in mind that it comes in two variants with differing compatibility. For PS4 gaming, it is an excellent choice as you get a USB wireless dongle that lets you connect to a PC without hassles. However, the Xbox One variant isn’t as flexible. If you are an Xbox enthusiast, look out for better options.
